GOPDC was divested in 1995 and has since been doing well. It currently has a workforce of 1,250 (due to the development of the new Okumaning Project) as against 950 at the end of Dec. 2002.

An amount of $13.5 has so far been invested since it was divested. Present capacity utilisation has increased tremendously that it presently has a mill with a capacity of 50mt of ffb per hour, which would be expanded to 60mt of ffb/hour by the end of the year.

GOPDC's Plantations are all certified organic. No chemicals, pesticides or herbicides are used resulting in a healthy superior quality product. This attracts a bonus on the World market. GOPDC will be able as from January 2005 to add value to its products. This is been made true by a loan granted by ADB to GOPDC this year in the construction of a 100 metric tonnes per day refinery and fractionation Plant.

GODPC intends to go on the Stock Exchange Market in the year 2005. The 1st placement will be offered to the participating outgrower farmers to be followed subsequently by the public floatation.
